Steven Tiner, the 23rd Pastor to the Levy Pulpit, came to North Little Rock in November, 2003, from Dermott Baptist Church. Having received excellent and superior ratings from the Arkansas Speech Communication Association, he has served as keynote speaker at events in churches in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas and Mexico City.
Recognized for his design of worship services, Pastor Tiner's unique World Communion Sunday service was featured in Let's Worship, the Southern Baptist journal for helping pastors and other worship leaders in planning worship. He has written columns for the North Little Rock Times, Sherwood Voice, Maumelle Monitor, and the Arkansas Baptist News. He is the author of, "Angels: God's Heavenly Beings", and "Enter His Gates", a daily devotional book, published quarterly. Pastor Tiner’s clever design of the Levy Baptist weekly newsletter, The Open Door, received accolades in The Newsletter Newsletter, a monthly resource for those who design and prepare church publications. He was appointed to the North Little Rock Green Agenda Committee by Alderman John Parker and in January of 2008, was named Chaplain of the Arkansas Queen.
Pastor Tiner has conducted three trips to the Holy Land (Israel, Jordan, Egypt), a pilgrimage on the 2nd and 3rd Missionary Journeys of Paul in Greece and Turkey, participated in the International Congress on Preaching in Cambridge, England, mission trips in Honduras and Mexico, and a "Paul's Journey to Rome" trip is planned for September, 2010. Prior to his arrival at Levy, he served churches in Dermott, Gould, Dumas, and Conway. He married Theresa Maynard, now Tiner, on August 22, 1998.
Darrell Dean joined the Levy staff in March 2009 to serve as Assistant to the Pastor in Education and Administration. Darrell came to the Levy staff from East Main Baptist in El Dorado.
Darrell brings to the Levy staff more than a decade of ministry experience having served churches in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in full time youth ministry as well as serving a lengthy stint as Youth and Education Minister at Southside Baptist in Tyler, Texas.
A gifted preacher and communicator, Darrell has filled pulpits in a variety of settings from revival to supply for churches in Bossier City, Louisiana; Stephens, Arkansas and Dunnellon, Florida.
Darrell holds a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (Go Warhawks!) along with a Masters of Christian Education and Masters of Christian Counseling both from Andersonville Theological Seminary.
Darrell, is a passionate football fan and every fall can be found pulling for his beloved Saints on Sunday afternoons in the fall. Darrell can also often be spotted around Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock taking in an Arkansas Travelers game. In his spare time Darrell enjoys and spending time with his family and working out. Darrell was married to the former Stella Renee Sherman on June 14, 1997. Darrell and Renee are the proud parents of one daughter, Aimee, born March, 12, 2002. The Dean family resides in North Little Rock.
Don Nichols joined the Levy staff in June of 2010 to serve as Assistant to the Pastor in Music Ministry. Don was born the youngest of 6 into a Christian Home in Missouri and was raised on a rural Ozark cattle farm. God called him into music ministry as a teenager and he began leading worship during his senior year of high school. During his college years he worked with 3 churches. He holds a Bachelor Of Church Music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. He served two churches in NW Arkansas, one for 13 years and another for 4 years before moving to Little Rock in 2003. He spent 10 years in music retail and now owns the Arkansas franchise of Play Piano in a Flash, where He teaches adults the joy of playing the piano. He is a local entertainer, featured on the Arkansas Queen river boat and various other venues. Don has a son, Tanner and a daughter Summer. Don’s desire is to leads God's people in heart felt praise to God and to live a life of worship"full" living. Don and his family reside in Bryant.
